Jeff Veliquette
Chief Veliquette currently serves as the Fire Chief for the Rancho Adobe Fire Protection District in Sonoma County California. Rancho Adobe Fire District covers approximately 80 square miles of suburban and rural jurisdiction including the City of Cotati, Sonoma State University as well as the communities of Penngrove and Liberty Valley. Rancho Adobe serves the community from 3 stations staffed full-time with a Captain, Engineer and Firefighter.
Chief Veliquette began his firefighting career as a Reserve Firefighter in Moraga California in 1985. He obtained his paramedic certification in 1989 from Chabot College and worked as a paramedic in Oakland, California and the Bay Area. He was hired as a Firefighter Paramedic in 1991 by Novato Fire Protection District. He was promoted to Captain in 1997 and Battalion Chief in 2007. He completed his career with Novato Fire District retiring in March of 2020 after serving as Deputy Fire Chief for the last three years. As the Deputy Fire Chief, he had the responsibilities for Operations, Training, EMS, Personnel and Fleet.
Chief Veliquette was a founding member of the Northbay Type 3 Incident Management Team and has served as Plans Sections Chief, Operations Section Chief and Incident Commander. Jeff is qualified as a Division Supervisor and has travelled throughout the State of California on wildland assignments.
Chief Veliquette is married to his wife Lori and they have 4 children and 3 grandchildren. They enjoy spending time at the lake boating with their children and in the mountains.
